Laser Genesis

As a new and upcoming treatment, Laser Genesis can minimize imperfections in the skin in various ways. At Borealis Dermatology, we can provide Laser Genesis to help clear up your skin and make you appear years younger.

What is Laser Genesis?

Laser Genesis is a non-invasive procedure that works with lasers to help smoothen out the skin and reduce the appearance of concerns such as acne, acne scarring, dark spots, rosacea wrinkles, and fine lines. This treatment can also be used to fade scars or keloids and heal broken blood vessels. By heating the skin with a non-ablative laser, Laser Genesis works to kill bacteria on the surface and deeper in the skin, and stimulate collagen production to heal the skin.

Did you know…

Because of its gentle nature, Laser Genesis is less likely to trigger inflammation in the skin and comes with only minimal pain. This can also be combined with other treatments, such as chemical peels, HydraFacials, and radiofrequency treatments, for better results. Be sure to consult your provider before combining different treatments to ensure your skin health.

How is Laser Genesis performed?

Before your treatment, Dr. Arora will perform an initial skin consultation to determine if you are qualified for Laser Genesis, evaluating your medical history, skin conditions, and overall health. After discussing your goals for treatment, our team will prepare for your treatment in the following steps:

  • Prepping: You will be asked to remove any make-up and/or our team will clean your face with isopropyl alcohol. To protect your eyes, a protective goggle will be placed over them.
  • Water-Based Gel Application: A water-based gel will be applied to your skin to soothe the skin from the heat as the treatment is performed.
  • Laser Pulse Treatment: When the treatment begins, you will feel a slight tingling sensation, or also described as a rubber band tapping on your skin.
  • Aftercare and Recovery: Our team will wipe off any remaining gel on your and provide an ice pack to minimize any inflammation.
What are the side effects of Laser Genesis?

Some side effects of Laser Genesis include swelling and redness, but these symptoms usually disappear within 30 to 60 minutes of treatment. As a low-risk procedure, it can produce skin results within three to four weeks, and the best results occur after three to six treatments. If your symptoms last more than the expected time or if you develop any other reactions, contact your provider right away.
