Facial Spider Veins, Nose Veins and Broken Capillaries

Treatment for facial spider veins, nose veins and broken capillaries, including vascular laser options after confirming the cause of redness.

Small red or purple vessels around the nose, cheeks, or chin can be surprisingly noticeable even when the rest of the skin is clear.

We look at whether the issue is isolated vessels, rosacea, diffuse redness, or another vascular concern before choosing treatment.

Laser treatment can reduce selected vessels while preserving a natural, untreated appearance.

What causes spider veins on the cheeks and nose?

Common contributors include rosacea, cumulative sun exposure, genetics, aging, prior inflammation and other causes of chronic facial redness. The visible vessel is sometimes only part of the problem, so diagnosis matters before treatment.

Why do veins show on the nose?

The nose has many superficial blood vessels, and repeated flushing, sun exposure and rosacea can make them more noticeable over time. A red nose is not always caused by visible vessels alone.

How are facial spider veins treated?

Vascular lasers and other light-based devices can target hemoglobin inside selected visible vessels. Treated vessels may gradually fade as the body clears them. Some respond after one session, while others require multiple treatments or can recur.

Which laser does Borealis use for facial vessels?

When appropriate, vascular concerns may be treated with devices such as the Excel V+ vascular laser. The choice of device and settings depends on vessel size, depth, skin tone and the underlying diagnosis.

Does skin tone affect treatment?

Yes. Melanin also absorbs light energy, so skin tone must be considered when choosing the device and settings. Conservative planning is particularly important in melanin-rich skin to reduce the risk of burns and pigment changes.

What should I expect after treatment?

Temporary redness, swelling, bruising or darkening of treated vessels can occur. Less common risks include blistering, scarring and changes in skin color. Sun protection before and after treatment is important.
