Excel V+ Vascular Laser

Excel V+ vascular laser treatment for selected facial redness, visible vessels and vascular concerns, adjusted for skin and downtime.

← Cosmetics and Aesthetics

Persistent redness, visible facial vessels, and certain brown spots can be difficult to cover and may not respond to skin care alone.

Excel V+ is a vascular laser platform that can target selected redness and vessels with treatment chosen around the color, depth, and location of the concern.

We decide whether laser is appropriate and how aggressive to be based on your skin and downtime.

Recovery & Results

Daily activities: Often resume quickly if comfortable.
Visible recovery: Swelling may last days; treated vessels or spots may remain visible for 1–2 weeks or longer.
Results: Vessels fade gradually; reassess before deciding on another session.

Quick decision guide

  • Best starting point: Excel V+ is most relevant when the concern is a visible vascular target such as facial vessels, broken capillaries or persistent vascular redness, after the diagnosis is confirmed.
  • Options to compare: Medical rosacea treatment, Laser Genesis and resurfacing address different problems; they should not be treated as interchangeable appointments.
  • Recovery: Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or darkening of treated vessels or spots can occur, with recovery varying by target and settings.
  • Treatment course: Some concerns may respond after a treatment, while others require more than one session or a series. Reassessment helps determine whether additional treatment is worthwhile.
  • Skin tone and pigment: Melanin can also absorb laser energy, so darker skin tones, recent tanning and prior pigment change require individualized parameters and conservative planning.
  • What it will not do: Treating visible vessels does not cure rosacea, and a vascular laser is not the primary treatment for depressed acne scars, significant laxity or every cause of facial redness.

Which concerns may benefit?

Depending on the diagnosis, a treatment plan may address visible facial vessels, telangiectasias often called broken capillaries, selected benign vascular spots, and persistent vascular redness associated with rosacea. Some benign pigment concerns may also be suitable. A changing, bleeding or otherwise suspicious spot requires medical assessment—not cosmetic laser treatment before a diagnosis.

How Excel V+ works

The platform offers 532-nm and 1064-nm wavelengths, allowing the clinician to select an approach for different targets and depths. Energy absorbed in the target produces a controlled thermal effect, while treatment parameters and cooling help manage the effect on surrounding skin. These are specific laser wavelengths; Excel V+ is not simply another name for an IPL photofacial.

Laser Genesis is a different treatment approach available within the broader laser landscape. Compare our Laser Genesis information with targeted vascular treatment rather than assuming the two appointments are interchangeable.

Redness is not always rosacea

Visible vessels, inflammatory bumps, irritation and flushing may need different treatments. For rosacea, laser treatment can be one part of care but does not replace medication or management of triggers when these are needed. Our rosacea page explains the broader medical approach, and our facial-vessel page explains common causes of broken capillaries.

Your consultation and treatment

Tell your clinician about recent tanning, photosensitivity, prior pigment changes, cold sores, medications, supplements and earlier laser procedures. We will examine the treatment area, discuss the specific goal and review eye protection and comfort measures. A test area or a more conservative approach may be appropriate. Do not stop prescribed medication without the prescribing clinician’s guidance.

Recovery and risks

Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or temporary darkening of treated vessels or spots may occur. Recovery depends on the target, treatment area and settings. Less common complications include burns, blistering, infection, persistent pigment changes and scarring. Contact the practice promptly about severe pain, blistering or worsening symptoms after treatment.

Skin tone matters because melanin can also absorb laser energy. Darker skin tones and recently tanned skin require individualized assessment; no wavelength is automatically risk-free. Aftercare and sun protection are part of the treatment plan.
