Sometimes you need an answer or follow-up without rearranging your entire day.
Video visits can work well for selected rashes, medication follow-up, treatment review, and other concerns that do not require a hands-on examination.
If something needs to be examined, biopsied, or treated in person, we will tell you that clearly.
Teledermatology Video Visits
What can teledermatology help with?
- Acne follow-up and treatment adjustments
- Eczema and psoriasis follow-up
- Rosacea and other chronic inflammatory skin conditions
- Medication monitoring and refill discussions
- Review of treatment response or photographs
- Selected rashes or skin concerns when image quality and history are sufficient
When is an in-person visit better?
New or changing growths, possible skin cancers, severe infections, painful abscesses, procedures, hair-loss conditions requiring scalp examination, and problems that need palpation, dermoscopy, culture, scraping, injection, or biopsy are generally better evaluated in person.
How should I prepare?
- Complete requested forms before the visit.
- Have your medication list available.
- Send clear, well-lit photographs when requested.
- Photograph the entire affected area plus closer views.
- Join from a private location with a stable internet connection.
Insurance and availability
Teledermatology coverage varies by insurance plan and by the reason for the visit. Our staff can help determine whether a video visit is available and appropriate for your concern.
What if the problem cannot be diagnosed remotely?
If the video visit does not provide enough information for a safe diagnosis or treatment plan, your provider may recommend an in-person examination. That is a normal limitation of telemedicine and helps avoid delays in the correct diagnosis.
Request a video visit: Book Appointment We will confirm whether teledermatology is appropriate for the concern or whether an in-person examination would be more useful.
