LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy for selected skin concerns, used alongside an appropriate skin-care plan rather than as a replacement for medical treatment.

← Back to Medispa

LED light therapy uses selected wavelengths of light without UV exposure. It may complement a treatment plan for selected acne, inflammation, skin-maintenance or recovery concerns.

We use LED alongside appropriate skin care or medical treatment, not as a replacement when prescription treatment or another procedure is needed.

LED Treatment Options

Celluma and Poly LED

Celluma uses combinations of blue, red and near-infrared light depending on the treatment protocol. It may be used as an adjunct for selected acne concerns, visible inflammation and skin-rejuvenation plans.

Poly LED is our advanced LED platform available at our Bellerose location. It uses red, blue and infrared wavelengths that can be selected according to the treatment goal.

What can LED light therapy help with?

  • Acne support: blue-light protocols may help reduce acne-associated bacteria and can complement a medical acne plan.
  • Redness and inflammation: red and near-infrared protocols may be used as a gentle adjunct when calming the skin is a treatment goal.
  • Post-procedure recovery: LED may be added after selected procedures when appropriate to support recovery.
  • Skin maintenance and rejuvenation: red-light protocols are commonly used as part of a broader plan for tone, texture and the appearance of fine lines.

What to Expect

What does treatment feel like?

Most patients describe LED treatment as comfortable. The light does not remove or resurface skin, and there are no needles or incisions. Eye protection is used when appropriate. Session length and wavelength selection depend on the device and treatment goal.

Is there downtime?

Downtime is usually minimal. Temporary warmth or mild redness can occur, but significant peeling or resurfacing is not expected from LED therapy itself.

How many treatments are needed?

LED is often used as a series or as an add-on to another treatment rather than as a one-time corrective procedure. The number and frequency of sessions depend on the concern being treated, the device used and the rest of your treatment plan.

Can LED replace medical treatment?

No. LED can be useful as an adjunct, but it should not replace prescription treatment when acne, rosacea, eczema or another inflammatory skin condition requires medical management. It also does not substitute for laser resurfacing, injectables or other procedures when those are more appropriate for the treatment goal.

Can LED be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Depending on your skin and the procedure, LED may be paired with facials, HydraFacial, microneedling or other aesthetic treatments. Your clinician or esthetician will recommend whether adding LED is likely to be useful for you.
